Eastsoft publishes the I-Lang Protocol and related software under the MIT License. You can use it, fork it, redistribute it, build commercial things with it. We provide it without warranty, and we are not liable for what you do with it. We do not run a model-inference service — your prompts go to the LLM provider you chose, not to us.
1. Acceptance
These Terms ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you") and Eastsoft Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of Canada ("Eastsoft," "we," "us"). By accessing or using any Eastsoft website, downloading any Eastsoft software, or invoking the I-Lang Protocol specification, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Services.
2. Scope & definitions
For purposes of these Terms:
- "Services" means the websites we operate (
eastsoft.com,ilang.ai,ilang.cn,i.ilang.ai,research.ilang.ai), the I-Lang Protocol specification, and any open-source software published under theilang-aiGitHub organization. - "Software" means any source code, binaries, configuration files, or documentation released by Eastsoft.
- "Spec" means the I-Lang Protocol specification, including verbs, syntax, and reference implementations.
Eastsoft does not operate a model-inference service, hosted runtime, or paid SaaS product. Your interactions with large language models occur with the model providers you choose, under their terms.
3. License grant
Unless otherwise stated in a particular repository, all Eastsoft Software and the Spec are licensed to you under the MIT License, the full text of which is reproduced in each repository's LICENSE file. Subject to that license, you may copy, modify, redistribute, and use the Software and Spec for any purpose, including commercial use.
The Eastsoft name, the I-Lang name, and Eastsoft logos are trademarks of Eastsoft Inc. and are not licensed under MIT. You may use them solely to identify Eastsoft as the upstream source. You may not use them to imply endorsement of, affiliation with, or origin from Eastsoft for any product or service that Eastsoft did not produce.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Services to:
- violate applicable law or the rights of others;
- infringe intellectual-property rights;
- distribute malware, conduct denial-of-service attacks, or otherwise compromise security;
- misrepresent your work as endorsed by, affiliated with, or originating from Eastsoft;
- scrape our public services in a way that materially degrades service for others.
5. Third-party services
The Services may interoperate with — or recommend — third-party platforms (LLM providers, code hosting, package registries). Your use of any third-party service is subject to that party's terms, not ours. Eastsoft makes no representation as to third-party reliability, security, or fitness for any purpose.
6. Intellectual property
Except for the MIT-licensed grants in §3, all rights in the Services, including the Spec, the websites, the trademarks, and any unreleased materials, remain the property of Eastsoft and its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership.
7. Contributions
If you submit a pull request, issue, comment, or other contribution to an Eastsoft repository, you grant Eastsoft a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and sublicense your contribution under the same license as the project. You represent that you have the right to make the contribution. We will credit contributors in commit history; we are not obligated to merge anything.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICES, SOFTWARE, AND SPEC ARE PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. EASTSOFT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE; NOR THAT ANY MODEL OUTPUT GENERATED IN CONJUNCTION WITH I-LANG WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR USE CASE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL EASTSOFT, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
EASTSOFT'S TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $100).
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Eastsoft against any third-party claim arising from (a) your use of the Services in violation of these Terms or applicable law, or (b) any product or service you build using the Software or the Spec.
11. Termination
These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. We may suspend or terminate access to any non-public Service at any time, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms. Sections 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 survive termination. Termination does not affect any license validly granted to you under MIT.
12. Governing law & venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of Canada and the applicable province in which Eastsoft is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved exclusively in the courts of competent jurisdiction located in that province, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
13. Changes
We may revise these Terms. Material changes will be announced on this page; the "Last updated" date always reflects the current version. Continued use of the Services after a change constitutes acceptance.
